Carpano – Napoleon (Cropped)

An original Italian advertising poster for Carpano vermouth, designed by celebrated graphic artist Armando Testa in 1954.

The design depicts Napoleon Bonaparte raising a glass with the crowned Carpano mascot. Part of a playful series featuring famous historical figures, the poster combines Testa's distinctive humour with bold colours, exaggerated characters and wonderfully simple graphic design.

Originally produced as a large-format lithographic poster, this example has been physically cropped, retaining the central illustration while removing the original advertising text. A striking example of mid-century Italian poster design.

Year: 1954
