Swiss Sample Fair

This striking Swiss vintage poster was created for the Schweizer Mustermesse (Swiss Sample Fair) held in Basel from April 22 to May 2, 1922. Designed by R. Kehrer, it features bold typography and a stylised red caduceus intertwined with the Swiss cross, symbolising commerce, industry, and national pride. The geometric lettering and limited colour palette – red, green, and black – reflect the early Art Deco and Bauhaus influences of the era, emphasizing strength and modernity. This piece is a fine example of early 20th-century European exhibition design and Swiss graphic heritage.
