Savignac: Vendre par l’Affiche

Raymond Savignac’s 1956 Vendre par l’Affiche poster was created to promote an exhibition of historic and modern posters in Paris. With his signature wit, Savignac depicts a simplified orange figure wearing a winged helmet and holding a caduceus – symbols of communication and commerce – alongside a rolled lithographic print. Bold, playful and instantly legible, it’s a clever tribute to the power of posters themselves and a classic example of post-war French graphic design.
