This is not a traditional advertising poster but a printer’s proof sheet of beer bottle labels for Resch's Dinner Ale (often abbreviated 'DA'), one of Australia’s best-known historic beers. The sheet shows dozens of identical oval labels arranged in a grid exactly as they would have been printed by a commercial lithographic press before being cut and applied to bottles. The label reads 'Resch’s Dinner Ale – DA' and references Tooth & Co., Sydney, the brewery that produced the beer for much of the 20th century.
Pieces like this were typically produced in the 1960s–1970s and were used for press checks or archival samples. Today they’re collected as examples of Australian brewing ephemera and graphic design, appreciated for their bold, repetitive pop-like visual effect when framed.
