This French advertising poster for Persan Export anise liqueur was designed by Jean Nicolitch during the late 1920s – early 1930s. The elegant Art Deco composition shows a stylish woman embracing an oversized bottle of the spirit, emphasising the glamour and sophistication associated with French aperitif culture of the period. Produced for the Distillerie du Persan (Paris–Marseille), the poster was originally printed as a large-format lithograph for display in cafés and public advertising spaces.
