A beautiful 1964 French advertising poster by André François for the iconic Parisian department store Printemps. Featuring a colourful butterfly with closed eyes and exaggerated black eyelashes, the design plays on the phrase Les Yeux Fermés, J'achète Tout — “With my eyes closed, I buy everything.”
The loose, painterly illustration and expressive handwritten lettering capture François' distinctive humour and imagination. A wonderful example of French advertising from the 1960s.
