An original French exhibition poster produced for Jeux et Jouets d’Autrefois at the Musée d’Histoire de l’Éducation in Paris. Held from December 1961 to March 1962, the exhibition brought together nearly 1,000 historic toys and games, exploring the history of childhood and play from antiquity through to the twentieth century. With its ornate decoration, playful central figure and wonderfully nostalgic palette, the poster draws inspiration from traditional French toys, games and nineteenth-century popular illustration.
