Chaussures Boursier

Chaussures Boursier is a c.1920s French Art-Deco advertising lithograph for the northern shoe retailer Boursier. The design is strikingly minimal: a single oversized black shoe on a flat yellow ground with the promise 'Meilleures, moins chères' ('better, cheaper'), and copy citing shop addresses in Arras and Douai (the firm traded around Valenciennes).
