A fantastic piece of mid-century French advertising promoting coal heating and domestic stoves. Featuring a brilliantly simple sleeping cat against a striking red ground, the poster uses warmth, comfort and humour to sell its message: “Chaleur-Charbon – pas de comparaison!” Produced through the Paris advertising agency R.L. Dupuy, it’s a great example of bold French commercial graphic design from the post-war period.
