Camping by Gicolitch

Designed by Gicolitch, a mid-century European graphic artist best known for bold, playful tourism imagery. Created during the post-war leisure boom, it reflects the explosion of affordable holidays and car-based travel across Europe, when camping was promoted as modern, carefree, and stylish. The simplified figure, saturated colours, and exaggerated typography are hallmarks of 1960s commercial design – optimistic, graphic, and instantly legible – making the poster a classic example of how tourism boards rebranded outdoor life as aspirational and chic rather than rustic.
