This post-war French advertising poster was produced in the early 1950s for Sauter, promoting its electric water heater, the Cumulus, at a time when modern appliances were reshaping daily life in France.
Designed by Claude Huart, the poster uses humour and stylised illustration rather than technical detail, pairing a relaxed domestic scene with the line 'Vous qui faites chauffer de l’eau 20 fois par jour…' to encourage efficiency and comfort. It reflects the optimism of the post-war reconstruction era, where advertising sold progress, convenience and modern living as much as the product itself.
