This vintage North Eastern Victoria, Australia tourism poster was produced in the mid-20th century, most likely during the 1950s-1960s, as part of a campaign by the Victorian Government Tourist Bureau to promote regional travel. The photomontage design combines scenes of alpine skiing, fishing, farming and dramatic mountain landscapes to highlight the natural beauty and outdoor lifestyle of Victoria’s north-east, including the Alpine region around Mount Buffalo and Falls Creek. Posters like this were displayed in travel agencies and transport hubs to encourage domestic tourism and remain appealing examples of post-war Australian travel advertising.
