The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Poster Series is a long-running project where artists create posters for display in the city’s subway system. These posters aim to bring art into public transit, showcasing New York’s culture and diversity. Over the years, many designers have contributed to the series, which is known for its bold, engaging visuals.

This was created in 1977 by Ivan Chermayeff,  co-founder of the design firm Chermayeff & Geismar.
